Daytona

Vegas with a punishment clause: fail bogey together and your number reads backwards.

Vegas for groups who think Vegas is too forgiving. Same concatenated numbers, one change: if neither partner beats bogey, your number assembles high digit first on its own.

The rules

A 5 and a 7 on a par four — both over — reads 75, not 57. One par protects the low-first number. No birdie flips in this variant; the backwards number is drama enough. Everything else is Vegas: the gap pays, capped at 9.

How it settles

$1 a point. Both of you bogey the 12th (5-5 → 55) while they par-bogey (45): ten points. Both of you double (6-6 → 66) while they par-par (44): twenty-two, and someone brings up laying up.

Rivalry scores Daytona live — the rules stated on the first tee, the money running along the bottom of the card, and the settle done to the dollar when the last putt drops. The round goes into your group's permanent record, because a game this good deserves to be remembered past the car park.

Some scores take years to settle.

Rivalry is in closed beta with a handful of groups. Leave an email and we’ll tell you when there’s room.
