What we keep, and why.

Rivalry is a record of golf rounds among friends. We collect the least we can get away with, we don’t sell any of it, and there are no advertising trackers on this site or in the app.

The waitlist

If you enter your email on this site, we store that address, the page you came from, the time, and the IP address the request came from. The IP is kept only to rate-limit signups so bots can’t spray the form; it is not used to identify or track you.

We use the address to send you occasional notes about Rivalry and to tell you when it launches. Every one of those emails carries a one-click unsubscribe, which removes you immediately. You can also reply to any of them and ask us to delete you outright, and we will.

The app

To use Rivalry you sign in with an email address. Inside a group we store what the record is made of: player names, handicaps, courses, dates, scores, and the money agreed for each round. Standings, records, rivalries and trophies aren’t stored separately — they’re derived from those rounds every time they’re shown.

A round belongs to everyone who played it. That has a consequence worth stating plainly: if you delete your account, your login and personal details go, your name comes off your seats, but the rounds themselves remain as part of the other players’ record. They are attributed to “Former member” instead of to you.

If a group member adds your email to invite you, we store it on that seat so we can send the invitation, and for nothing else.

Who else touches it

Supabase hosts the database and authentication. Vercel serves this website. Resend delivers our email. Apple handles the App Store and push notifications. Scorecard photographs you choose to scan are sent to OpenAI to be read into numbers, and are not used to train anything.

That’s the entire list. Nobody buys this data from us, because we don’t sell it.

Your say

You can ask for a copy of what we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Account deletion is available in the app under You → Settings, and does what’s described above. For anything else, email hello@rivalry.golf and a human will answer.

Rivalry is not built for children, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so in an email rather than quietly editing the page and hoping nobody notices.
