Side game · exactly 4
Low Ball · High Ball
Two points a hole — the star takes one, the anchor man decides the other.
The team game that makes foursomes honest. Two points on every hole: the better low ball takes the first, and the better high ball takes the second — meaning your weaker score has to beat their weaker score.
The rules
Fixed teams, net scoring, each point at the stake a man, ties void the point. The star gets you the low point; the high point belongs to whoever's bad golfer is less bad. Carrying your partner suddenly has a scoreboard.
How it settles
$2 a point. You make 3 net, partner makes 6; they make 4 and 5. Your birdie takes low — their 5 beats the 6 for high. Split hole, nothing moves, and your partner buys the drinks.
Rivalry scores Low Ball · High Ball live — the rules stated on the first tee, the money running along the bottom of the card, and the settle done to the dollar when the last putt drops. The round goes into your group's permanent record, because a game this good deserves to be remembered past the car park.
Some scores take years to settle.
